The City Council has ordered the preparation of a feasibility report for the streets proposed to be improved in 2026. Below is a map showing the streets that will be evaluated for inclusion in the 2026 Street Improvement Project. Streets may be added or removed depending on the available budget.

    • Residents affected by the new concrete curb & gutter installation have received a flyer with parking information. Please remember to remove needed vehicles, campers & boats from your driveway before 7:00 a.m. on the day of your installation.
    • Curb & Gutter replacement will be complete by the end of Tuesday, weather permitting.
    • Wednesday, Thursday & Friday are reserved for rain makeup or for finishing up any loose ends regarding concrete work.
    • If you have irrigation damage from construction, please contact Sue with your address @ 952-882-2671 or smeyer@savagemn.gov(External link).

      • Remove needed vehicles, trailers, campers and boats out of your driveways before 7 a.m. on the day of your installation. See map below.
      • Do not park or drive on the new curb or driveway for a minimum of seven days.
      • Park in an area that is not under construction or where existing curb was not removed.
      • After the Contractor is no longer working, you may park on the street in front of your home.

    Week of May 11, 2026

    • Phase 1:
      • New Storm Sewer installation will begin on Alabama Avenue, Zarthan Avenue & 140th Street.
      • Crews will finish removing concrete sidewalk panels on Monday & Tuesday. Finish removing curb & gutter that has been marked for removal.
      • Later in the week, new concrete pedestrian ramps will begin.
      • At the end of the week, new concrete curb & gutter will be installed. Please watch for informational flyers on your door regarding this activity.
    • Phase 2:
      • Crews will be replacing bolts on the gate valves that are part of the water main. They will be working on Yosemite Avenue, 139th Street, Yosemite Circle & Court, & 141st Street.
    • Phase 1 & 2:
      • Please continue getting your mail in the temporary mailboxes located on Connelly Parkway.
      • Expect some heavy equipment and trenching which may cause minor delays.

      • New Storm Sewer installation will begin on Colorado Avenue and will work to the east.
      • Concrete sidewalk panels will be removed Tuesday or Wednesday at the intersections of 140th Street. Crews will be removing dirt and placing new gravel in preparation for new pedestrian ramps that will be installed in a few weeks.

    • Crews will be installing inlet protection devices in the catch basins.
    • Saw cutting of marked curbs & sidewalks will begin.
