Each year, the City performs maintenance on various segments of the City's road system to maximize the useful life of the pavement. The maintenance treatment can vary from crack sealing, seal coating, or patching up to complete reconstruction depending on the condition of the roadway. In order to determine the appropriate treatment, the City uses a Pavement Management Program (PMP). As part of this program, each street within the City has been surveyed, and its condition rated. Based on this rating, roadways are identified for inclusion in the City's annual Street Improvement Program and shown on the City's 10-Year Street Improvement Plan.

The 2025 Street Improvement Project affects approximately 1.8 miles of roadway. Proposed roadways to be improved are shown on the map below and include Colorado Ave., 139th St., Brunswick Ave., 137th S., Alabama Ave., Zarthan Ave., Zarthan Ct., Yosemite Ave., Xenwood Ave., 136th St., 136th Ln., and 147th St.

    • Curb & Gutter placement on all of 139th Street and portions of 137th Street.

    Monday, May 26 - Friday, May 30

    • Monday - No Work - Holiday
    • Tuesday - Friday - Curb & Gutter placement on Yosemite, Xenwood Ave, 137th Street & Zarthan.

    • Thursday/Friday: Installation of concrete driveway panels are being installed where curb & gutter was previously replaced on 136th Street, Zarthan Ave, 136th Lane, Alabama Avenue. Street parking is extended for these residents. Curing time is typically 7 days but we will let you know if you can access sooner.

    • Installation of drain tile on 137th Street, Yosemite Avenue, & Xenwood Avenue

    Quick Update: Concrete work will be starting Wednesday, May 14 (not today).

    • New Storm Sewer installation will take place on Zarthan Ave.
    • Yard Drains and Drain Tile will tentatively be installed on Yosemite, 137th Street, and Xenwood.
    • Concrete Curb & Gutter is expected to start on Monday, 5/12 for Colorado Ave, 139th Street, and Brunswick Ave. Access to driveways may be impacted and street parking will need to be utilized during installation and cure time. Please contact Kale Milek with any questions at 952-292-2221.
    • Concrete work will continue throughout the week. We will do our best to update.

    Temporary Mailbox Bank: Herness Construction will be communicating with residents and installing temporary mailboxes for Friday, April 25. The temporary mail bank will be located on the south of Connelly Parkway, East of Yosemite Ave S. and North of 139th St W. All mail will be delivered at this location with the exception of 147th Street which will have their own mail bank installed at a later date.
