About the project
- The mural will be a complete mosaic made from glass tiles and mirrors
- The theme of the mural will focus on community, inclusion, and belonging
- Budget: $50,000, funded by proceeds from the Liquor Operation
- Expected completion: August 31, 2025.

This team of mosaic artists, based in Minneapolis, emphasizes collaboration and community involvement in their work. They have previously created murals for various organizations in Minnesota, including Semilla Center for Healing and the Arts, Urban Roots, Hope Community, Little Earth, and Urban Village.
The City received 45 proposals for this project. A multi-step review was conducted to select the artist, involving staff and community members from the Community Equity Commission, the REDI Task Force, the Savage Area Arts Council, and a student from the Native American Student group at Prior Lake-Savage High School.
The mural will be a complete mosaic made from glass tiles and mirrors, focusing on community, inclusion, and belonging themes. Community participation will be essential in making the mural a true reflection of our community. The community will have opportunities to share their ideas on what should be featured in the mural. The artist team will use this input to create the final mural design. The community will also be able to create portions of the mosaic tiles that will be incorporated into the final mural. -
