Short-Term Rental Community Survey

Understanding the "party house" issue, the homeowner should be responsible. License can be revoked. Occupant owner rents out a BR/BSMT? OK

Do not allow Airbnb or VRBO short term rentals!

We are too small of a community to allow short term rentals that is what hotels/motels are for. We just had a house in our neighborhood that rented individual rooms out (supposedly long term, but that was very questionable) and let's just say it was not good. The owners did not keep up the exterior of the home or the lawn, cars were constantly coming and going, people moving in/out all the time, no respect for the neighbors or surrounding homes. The house finally sold this spring and has permanent residents. Everyone in our neighborhood was ecstatic! Please do not allow this to happen again to our community with short term rentals.

Bad idea; we have enough hosts/guests in the neighborhood already

Short-term rentals is a good idea, caveat being through a recognized company (VRBO, AirBnb, etc) or Real Estate company. Not individuals.

There should also be a limit on the number of days per month the property can be a rental. My recommendation is 25-33% of the month - eg, 7-10 days per month. There should also be a "canned" contract that is pre-approved by the City - goal being to look out for the owners, neighbors and City itself.

Absolutely no short-term rentals. We are a community of homeowners with pride in our homes. We were not built to be a community of motels.
