The City of Savage acquired the property at the intersection of County Road 27 and 154th St in 2006 intending to develop the site. The site is guided in the Comprehensive Plan for planned mixed development and is guided for commercial on the future land use map. The EDA sold the property to the developer in 2018, and there was a public hearing.
On June 12, 2023, Amcon Development, working with the property owner, 4833 W. 123rd LLC, submitted land use and subdivision applications for the development of a 4,600-square-foot retail building with a 670-square-foot coffee show kiosk on the site. The retail building is intended to be a multi-tenant general commercial space and the coffee show will have a drive-through.

UPDATE February 18, 2024 The developer has requested an extension to postpone the item to a future Planning Commission and City Council meeting to allow time to refine their proposal. At this time, a new meeting date has not been scheduled.
UPDATE January 31, 2024 The Planning Commission Meeting on February 8, 2024, has been canceled. The applicant for the Credit Riverbank project has requested an extension. This item is tentatively scheduled for the February 22 or March 4 Planning Commission meeting.
REVISED January 9, 2024: The Planning Commission held a public hearing on Thursday, November 9, 2003, regarding the proposed development project on the northeast corner of County Road 27 and 154th St. During that meeting, the Planning Commission decided to table the project and asked the applicant to provide additional information. The Planning Commission meeting is now tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024, when the Commission will review and discuss the updated information and provide a recommendation to the City Council.
All interested parties are invited to attend the Planning Commission meeting in the Council Chambers at Savage City Hall, 6000 McColl Drive, Savage, Minnesota at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible.
