The City of Savage is planning to update its flood maps for the Credit River area. These updates will use newer, more accurate ground elevation data to better show which areas could flood between Quentin Avenue and the Minnesota River.

Specifically, the City wants to redraw the "1-percent annual chance floodway"—areas with a 1% chance of flooding in any given year (sometimes called the "100-year floodplain"). The section being updated runs from Quentin Avenue to Highway 13.

These map updates will give homeowners, businesses, and the city more accurate information about potential flooding risks in this area, which helps with planning, insurance, and safety preparations.
