Consultation has concluded
The City recently discovered that some properties within the city park system do not align with the 2040 Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map and Official Zoning Map based on the intended use of the land. To clean up the land use map and zoning map staff is proposing to guide and rezone a portion of Community Park land appropriate for park use.
The following actions are for consideration by the Planning Commission and City Council:
• Comprehensive Plan Amendment from Low Density to Park on 15.01 acres.
• Zoning Map Amendment from Planned Residential District (PRD) to Preservation Open Space District P-1 on 7.51 acres.

On June 5, the Planning Commission recommended approval of the request. The City Council is anticipated to take final action at the June 16, 2025, meeting.
